Our target groups
OVC support
The goal of the OVC (Orphans and Vulnerable Children) program is to offer psychosocial support to children and adolescents so as to help them achieve their full potential. This we do through running of an array of deliberately tailored activities including support groups, social events, and children club meetings and conducting one on one support through home visits and home assessments.
Household Income Strengthening
The primary objective of this intervention is to boost the income capacity of the households so as to better the living standards of the children within such households. This we do through voluntary savings and loaning/table banking whose objective is to assist caregivers boost their income generating activities so that they can adequately meet the basic need of the family.
Street and Community Outreach Program
The aim of this program is to reach out to the street children so as to reconnect them/reengage them to their families and link them to other support systems/structures with an aim to continue with their education and or offer alternative vocational trainings for them to gain meaningful livelihood.
Education Program
In line with the government’s policy of universal access to free and decent basic education for all children, this intervention seeks to complement this by ensuring that all school-age children are in school. We work closely with caregivers to ensure that all children attend school. We also identify and link those who are not in school with educational institutions, and address the underlying challenges that prevent them from being in school.
Youth Empowerment Program
The goal of this intervention is to meaningfully engage youth to reduce their vulnerability to life-threatening behaviors, including HIV infection, drug and substance abuse, criminal activities and other related vices. We do this through tailored livelihood trainings that aim to equip them with skills that will enable them to earn decent livelihoods. These trainings focus on photography, video making, filming, editing and documentary production. The training package also includes entrepreneurial skills to enable them to establish their own initiatives.
